We are not your run of the mill, youth development organisation, what makes us different is our unique urbanise twist to all our sessions and projects
All our sessions are tailor made for and by young people, following the current trends of today. Collectively, we create sessions to ensure young people have fun in a safe space for all abilities to enjoy.
Tuf*C works to improve the physical and mental wellbeing being of young people. Getting young people to become fitter, healthier and take pride in their appearance with influences of good practices.
Background narrative to project/activity
We explicitly work in areas of high levels of multiple deprivation and targets hard to reach and marginalised young people to give them different choices through positive engagement through our unique urbanised sport offer. This is achieved through personalised 1-2-1 coaching and mentoring through sport. All designed to move young people away from risky behaviours and build personal resilience and coping mechanisms. Once trained, our team of Tuf*C Coaches proactively engage and work with other hard to reach young people likely to be trying to get out of, or avoid a lifestyle of gangs, offending, drug or substance misuse and other anti-social behaviour. This peer to peer engagement helps us recruit more Tuf*C Coaches and the cycle continues.
Throughout Thursday to Saturday evenings, our Tuf*C leaders and coaches take over to deliver ‘Urbanised Sport and Leisure’ sessions around Trafford giving them real life experience of running sport sessions to other young
Project/activity outcome
Through this investment we wish to develop our Tuf*C Leaders of the future. Our aim is to support young people and uses the power of sport to affect a young person’s outlook on life, their confidence, self-esteem and wellbeing.
Our programme is a bespoke and personalised sports orientated personal development and training
programme, proven to work with vulnerable and at risk young people where they can grow and prosper and provide them with an opportunity to employment and career opportunities and a chance to work with us in their chosen sporting area or set up their own freelance sports training business. Once on the programme your support will enable
the development of these young people over the next three years to become expert in delivery of multi-sport
training and development.
All our young people are trained and supported to gain sport qualifications whilst volunteering and then
working with Tuf*C.
What we deliver?
Our core offers take place within local community leisure centres, which we have access to. These centres are fully staffed and entirely managed by our young coaches and volunteer’s for the duration of the sessions.
We offer an array of the latest cutting edge multi sports and activities which are delivered by our fully qualified young people.
Different sessions are able to take place simultaneously and participants are able to freely move between and join in these sessions. We find this accommodates all our young people, those young people that have low attention spans allows them the freedom to move around, not get bored with one offering of activities and gives young people the opportunity to try different things.
